It's easy sometimes, when you do something for a while, to take things for granted or to forget just how wonderful that something is. This past weekend in Park City, UT reminded me just how lucky I am do be able to do what I do.
First off, the area is beautiful and the town of Park City is fantastic. It's my kind of place. It reminded me quite a bit of Steamboat Springs, CO, another one of my favorite towns and I could easily be talked into relocating to Park City!
It also helped that the people that brought me to Utah and everyone I hung out with were just wonderful! I met up with an old friend for dinner on Friday night and even walking down the street people greet you and ask you how you are doing! Very friendly folks! Everyone made me feel so welcome on my first visit to Utah!
I was in Park City to do a house concert at Lewie and Charlotte's home and you could not ask for a better setting.
Thanks to Kathy for all the photos!
Here is a view from their backyard:

It was a cool day but nice and when the sun came out it felt warm. The low was supposed to be about 38 that night. I don't know how cold it was but I learned that in at least one regard, Utah and Wisconsin are the same, despite the weather, the party will go on!
The band that might be called FOG kicked things off. They are still deciding on the name but Anna, Jay, David and Cody played a great set of songs and got the day off to a good start.

Next up was Rich Wyman. He is a Park City local and a very talented performer:

Then I played until the sun was down and my fingers were numb!

Then we moved things inside:

Now all of that by iteself would be enough for a great weekend but we were just getting started!
The next day we were off to see the sights of Park City! We toured Olympic Park and got to see many of the training facilities.

Here is a shot from the top of the ski jump!

And the zip line!

Then we headed for Park City Resort, more rides and fun, then dinner, out for a bit then home.
It was a fantastic weekend! Thanks to everyone in Utah for the great time, thanks to Lewie and Charlotte for having me, and here's to Lewie staying safe and hurrying home!
